The Andes of Peru

The Mountain Range of the Andes -one of the largest chain of mountains of the Earth- runs from North to South over the Peruvian territory shaping the Sierra region, representing 27% of the national territory, framing multiple ascending and descending ramparts that rise and fall everywhere, reaching to 6,767 m height above sea-level in the snow-capped Huascaran (second top of America); and descending through the Colca Canyon to the deepest depression of the American Continent.

Peru has an extraordinary geographic diversity, so it holds every climate and landscape of the Earth: in the Coast, the extreme drought of the Sahara desert, with its fresh fertile valleys seeming oasis; in the Andean valleys , the picturesque of the alpine landscapes; in the high mountain table-lands, the snow-capped mounts of the Himalaya; and in the western forest of the Amazonian plain, the African jungle.
